Types of Baccarat Games Played Around the World

Baccarat has different variations such as Punto Banco, Super Pan 9, and Three Card Baccarat

Different types of baccarat have been created over the years, the most popular being Punto Banco, Super Pan 9, Baccarat en Banque, Chemin de Fer, and Three Card Baccarat. While the versions are somehow similar, there are some differences when it comes to drawing rules. The good news is that this is a game of chance that can be played by both newbies and pros.

Punto Banco

This is the most common variety played in casinos in Australia, Canada, the U.S., and elsewhere. Here, everyone bets against the dealer who does all the cutting, shuffling, and dealing. The goal is to get the closest to nine by adding up the card values for each hand. The three bets are tie, the player’s, and the banker’s. The values of cards are as follows: kings, jacks, tens, and queens are worth zero, 2 to 9 count as their face value, and for aces you get 1 point.

Super Pan 9

Another popular version of baccarat, Super Pan 9 is an easy to learn and fast-paced game. Here the banker and players place bets and then the cards are dealt. Some cards are removed – 10, 9, 8, and 7s, so you only have kings, queens, jacks, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2s, and aces or a total of 36 cards. Values are the same as in baccarat and to win the game, you must have a better hand than the banker’s. As it was created in California, you can expect to find it in land casinos there.

Three Card Baccarat

Similar to dominoqq, this game is more popular in Asia, and you will typically find it in small casinos in Macau. With Three Card Baccarat, both the banker and players receive three cards, and the goal is to guess who will get the highest hand. Cards 2 to 9 are worth their numerical value, aces count as 1, and face cards are worth 10. When you get 0 to 4, you draw, and if your total is 8 or 9, you win. Players who get 5 either stand or draw while those who have 6 or 7 stand .

Chemin de Fer

Another version of baccarat played across Europe and Latin America, Chemin de Fer is a French game that is also known as Chernay and Shimmy. The face values are the same as in Punto Banco but the difference is that instead of betting against the bank or house, players wager against each other.  Chemin de Fer is played in rounds and can be found in online and brick-and-mortar casinos. Players take turns to act as the banker at https://betopolis.gr/netbet/ .

Other types that you can play online and at traditional casinos include mini baccarat and baccarat en banque. The first has similarities with both blackjack and Punto Banco and is popular in the U.S.
